Formwork...Steel...Concrete Pour

Earth continues to move...

(left) earth from excavation of next retaining wall...(right) king of the hill.

Getting ready for slab pour

(left) base of window supports, before the slab is poured setting concrete will be placed under the base plate...(right) conduit ready for concrete...

Formwork Goes Up...

(from upper left to lower right) The form panel is picked up...swung overhead...placed into position.

Waterproofing the retaining wall and elevator pit...

At the base, where the vertical wall meets the horizontal foundation is the location of a 6 inch perforated drain pipe. The waterproofing material is a heavy rubber sheet with extremely sticky petroleum based mastic. This stuff is so sticky, if anything gets with a few inches...on it goes.

Formwork is off...getting ready for next part of retaining wall...Survey crew lays out the next section...the Plumbers (in white and blue shirts, near retaining wall) beginning setting the next series of pipes..

Fitting the crane on the project site....
The crane driver had to negotiate the support poles for the shear walls to get his "rig" placed correctly...there is only about 13 feet clear to work with..

 A man and his rig...
These "monster" machines are incredible with what they can do...operating this thing is like art I think. The only trouble with taking a photo on a working project...nothing stays still long enough to take a picture. So the result is a Hockney type picture.

Setting a wall...Moving a mountain...

The vertical red poles are window frame supports...a total of 77.

Formwork continues...

Second Floor formwork goes up...
