Steel Beam Prep Continues...

Once the vertical and horizontal structure is squared, the "k" and "x" bracing in installed. These braces are for earthquake safety.

The "k" brace tube is cut to fit the steel mounting plate...Concrete cleaning continues...

Backfilling of upper parking area begins...A water line is rerouted.

The retaining wall drain goes in before backfilling...The drainage sheet in like an egg crate, allowing water to pass vertically to the drain.

The compact Compactor fitting the earth and gravel next to the wall, the plywood is removed before the next layer is placed.

The coordination of thousands of small details, sometimes it's missed.
Here the embedded bolt with the "silver nut" is just off of where the steel plate hole is...the solution is to weld on an extension plate.

Horizontal Beam connection bolts...

Just a cool shot...Aaron (white hat) and crew work an "X" Brace...

Top of "K" gets its weld...
